Ecbatana

Ecbatana – From the historical monuments of the pre-Islamic period, the Hegmataneh hill is one of the places that has been excavated over the past century. During excavations, valuable and unique works have been discovered, often belonging to the Achaemenid era and their ancestors. Today, archaeologists generally believe that this hill (which is the widest archaeological hill in Iran) belongs to the remnants of the Kassite, Medes, and Achaemenid buildings. The party cemetery is located in the stone lion.

This cemetery has been used for 200 years from the late Achaemenid period to the first half of the Seleucid period, and there are three different burial methods, which can be seen as the emergence and expansion of three different religious trends that during these two centuries had been affected on Hamedan society.
