silk carpet of Qom

The city of Qom is the largest silk carpet manufacturing center in the world, with 90% of its products exported from Iran, with a value of nearly $ 17 million per year for Iran. The carpet weaving history in Qom is in the current style started the late 20th century, about 80 years ago, when merchants of Kashan dumped carpets to Qom and started work on a limited scale. After 20 years, the production of Qom Silk Rug Business dimensions began. The industry quickly became popular in Qom and gradually expanded to the surrounding villages. The drawings of the old Qom carpets were made up of designs known as Lachak and toranj Shah Abbasi, Mahramat, Mehrabi and hunting ground. These designs, which were adapted from the maps of Kashan and Isfahan, quickly changed with the changes that were made by the Qom designers and created a new style in the carpet industry in Iran. This style was renowned for its features such as the harmony of the designs and the color of the “carpet style” of Qom. The silk carpet of Qom is durable and has the most decorative aspect.
