The Documentary: “The War Story: Lamerd”

“The War Story” (Revayat-e Jang) is a documentary series produced by Javad Mogouei, an Iranian filmmaker and producer, which focuses on the events of the recent war between Iran and the United States.
Javad Mogouei is an Iranian author, researcher, producer, and documentarian who has gained prominence for analyzing and shedding light on controversial and overlooked events in Iran’s contemporary socio-political history. Born in 1985 (1364 SH), he is considered a prominent figure among the new generation of Iranian documentarians. His works often garner significant public attention and spark serious political and media reactions. During the “12-Day War” and the “40-Day Ramadan War,” Mogouei conducted interviews with high-ranking Iranian political and military figures regarding these conflicts.
The 18th episode of the “War Story” series is dedicated to an atrocity committed by the U.S. military in the city of Lamerd, located in southern Shiraz province, during the U.S. invasion of Iran on February 28, 2026 (9 Esfand 1404 SH).
On this day, the U.S. military targeted Lamerd using a specialized and prohibited weapon known as the PrSM (Precision Strike Missile). This missile is designed to detonate approximately 20 meters above the ground, dispersing around 180,000 sharpnels over a wide range.
The firing of four such missiles resulted in 21 Killed and 180 injured civilians, many of whom were children. The use of this prohibited weapon against innocent civilians stands as a clear instance of a war crime committed by the U.S. military against the civilian population in Iran.
