Hamedan bazaar

The historical complex of Hamedan market is located in the streets of Baba-taher, Ekbatan and Shohada, and its main buildings related to the Qajar period. The above geographic space, which forms the boundaries of the establishment of the bazaar, has always been part of the construction of the Hamedan in the history of the emergence of Hamadan from the time of the Parthians.
These markets, such as markets, are often dome-shaped and unique in architecture in the cities of Iran. The current market of Hamedan market consists of 38 markets and 26 caravansaries, which have often changed their original form. The largest of them are Golshan, the most prospered one is Gomrok, which newly renovated, but the most beautiful and healthiest caravansaries are Mirza Kazim.
The name of the Hamedan market first reflected in the traveler’s writings of this period. Abolqasem Mohammed ibn Huqal, a famous Muslim historian and traveler of the fourth century, has mentioned in his book Hamedan market. Although Moghadasi and Ibn Huqal consider the early construction of the market as related to the era of the Samanids, however, other than the building of the Golshan Caravanserai, which belongs to the Safavid era, the major parts of the current market have been made during the Qajar or Pahlavi period.
