Ovan Lake is located in the province of Qazvin and in the famous area of Alamut, along with the village of Evan. the Ovan is the 89th natural work that presented by the Cultural Heritage Organization on February 9, 2004 in the list of natural heritage of Iran.
Only the smallest springs of the underground springs are fed the lake, and a small part of it is fed from the rain, but it is shallow and very low. The deepest part is 6.8 meters with a water temperature of 23 degrees Celsius and underwater view is less than one meter and locate in south of it. Of course, some local people have suggested different depths for the lake, which the diving team did not endorse.
The bed of the lake is full of sediments and algae that has a lot of adhesion. There is also a small stream of water from the lake’s water, which is used by the farmers in the villages of Kushk and Ayin. In the summer, the lake is a place for fishing, paddling and sailing place, and in the autumn, it is choosing by migratory birds such as swans, geese, ducks and in winter due to the air chill and freezing is good for Ice skating.
