Springs

The springs of Qeshm Island, that are sprawling in the place of the island, are lacking in fresh water and are mostly salty. Some of these springs are:

  • The salty Sulfur mineral springs Kargah spring : are located in the middle and the core of the anticline structure adjacent to the Salakh Fishing Port (Salakh Natural gas Field, known as Barahout)
  • Gouri spring: Gory sediment have a thickness of about one hundred, covering the deposits of anhydrite and salts related to the Gachsaran Formation, which according to the knowledge is about 1,400 meters tall.
  • Springs around Namakdan Mountain: Sediment-covered areas in the mountain have large and large masses of high quality and purity salt, and economically important in providing oral salt, medical salt and even providing some of the necessary derivatives in petrochemical compounds.
