A Live Discussion on “The Iran-U.S. Conflict, the Memorandum of Understanding, and the Future of Developments in West Asia” will be held.

In light of recent developments in West Asia—most notably the U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran, the subsequent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Iran and the United States, and the unfolding aftermath—the prospects for regional peace and stability remain shrouded in uncertainty.

In this context, the Foundation of Dialogue and Solidarity of the United Nations (FODASUN) will host a live discussion titled “The Iran-U.S. Conflict, the Memorandum of Understanding, and the Future of Developments in West Asia.” The session will feature Mr. Stefano Vernole, Geopolitical Analyst and Deputy at the Center for Eurasian and Mediterranean Studies (CESEM).

The discussion is scheduled for Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. Tehran time (10:00 a.m. Italy time). The session will be video-recorded and will subsequently be made available on the Foundation’s website at www.fodasun.com.

The conversation will explore the complexities of the Iran-U.S. conflict and its impact on peace and stability in West Asia, the implications of the recently signed MoU in reducing tensions, and how these developments are shaping the geopolitical future of the region.
