Sohan Qom

Sohan Qom

The most famous souvenir of Qom is Sohan.
About a century ago a kind of halvah and homemade cookies were cooked in Qom and it was famous for “qom Halva”; it was very limited and rarely delivered by grocery shops. Since then, Sohan’s name has been added to this sweet and gradually became a symbol of Qom’s food and drink.
In Qom you can visit up to 2000 to 2,500 cookies and Sohan’s producer’s shops. Monthly in Qom more than 500 tons of Sohans are being sold and this product is exported to European and Central Asian countries.
Halvah, rings, figs, pomegranates and cabbage called qonabid are also known as Qom’s gifts.
